Visit this slow-paced land where the people work hard, play hard, and generally make the most of the beauty the country has to offer: discover the impressive Tatra Mountain range in the South, peaking at around 2600 metres (around twice the height of Ben Nevis). Explore from the picturesque alpine town of Zakopane, a great base for skiing, boarding, hiking and snow-shoeing. Visit the frozen lakes where you can get close to nature and appreciate the stillness as the sun sets over them. Take a train journey across it to gaze on the spectacular scenery of the evergreen forests plastered in the white of freshly fallen snow. Thermal pools, winter markets, incredible food and drink: it’s a treat.
