Meet the Team

Paul Mitchell (Director)

Paul has been working in the outdoor industry for over 20 years, he is a passionate about getting all people of all abilities into the great outdoors. Holding his Summer, Winter and International Mountain Leader Award (IML). Paul spends most of his time in the mountains either climbing or walking with groups and for personal enjoyment. He also holds his BCU Level 2 Canoe and Kayak coaching awards, 4 star Open canoe, 3 star sea kayak .SPA in climbing and is a fully qualified Teacher.PGCE

Katie Mitchell (Senior Instructor)

Katie has been with Dynamic since 2005. She is a BCU level 4 coach and paddling specialist, always found on the river whenever possible. She is also qualified in climbing, archery and mountaineering - also holding an International Mountain Leader award. Katie is always accompanied in the UK by JD her trusty chocolate Labrador who is a great hit with all the groups.

Azzy Sharpe (Senior Instructor)

Azzy joined us through an apprenticeship with Exeter College in September 2013, after completing her apprenticeship, being made full time and working her way up she is now Senior Instructor . Azzy has helped to run expeditions all over the UK and internationally such as Alaska, Slovenia, Italy and Spain. She is qualified across the board and loves to play in the great outdoors, there seems to be nothing Azzy can't do.

Nicola Yalland (Senior Instructor)

Nicola joined us in November 2016 after freelancing for us for a number of years previously. She's worked in the industry for 11 years, running expeditions all across the world, including New Zealand, Mongolia, India and Nepal to name a few! She's a First Aid Tutor, Mountain Leader, and Paddlesport Coach. Her main passion is being in the mountains, but you'll find her on the water when she gets the chance.

Paul Clayton (Instructor)

Paul started at Dynamic Adventures as a Trainee; he joined with limited outdoor experience and developed both his personal and leadership skills quickly. He's travelled around the UK with us as well as Spain, Poland, Swiss Alps and Dolomites. Although he started with no qualifications, he now has his local cave leader, climbing wall and abseil awards, level 1 paddlesport coach, mountain biking leader, and is SPA and ML trained.

Emma Bunce (Instructor)

Emma is an enthusiastic and bubbly character who joined as a Lychee trainee instructor after completing a Diploma in outdoor education at college. She's a keen paddler, holding her level 2 coach, and loves to get down the river when possible! With us, Emma's acheived multiple NGB awards and is SPA and Mountain Leader trained. As well as gaining qualifications, she's travelled all over the UK and Europe on various expeditions with us.

Alice Varley (Lychee - Trainee Instructor)

Alice decided to pursue a life in outdoor leadership after going on a school expedition to Nepal and being thoroughly inspired. She joined Dynamic after completing her A-Levels and has already started working towards her Mountain Leader and Climbing Wall Award. She especially enjoys cycling and wild camping and is looking forward to the international trips to come.

Stuart Rodgers (Lychee - Trainee Instructor)

Stuart joined the Lychee programme in September after leaving his long-term job in the fitness industry. He is an avid traveler who lived in America for 4 years, backpacked through Eastern Europe and South East Asia and lived in New Zealand for a spell. Fed up of being a weekend warrior, he has fully immersed himself in the outdoor industry and is looking forward to spending his days in the great outdoors enabling other people from all walks of life to do the same.

Laura Newton (Lychee - Trainee Instructor)

Laura joined Dynamic in September 2016 after making the decision that life behind the desk was not her dream. She has a number of years of managerial experience but her true passion lies in the Great Outdoors, travelling to new, exciting places and sharing her love for adventure with others. Laura is keen to get stuck into learning and developing mountain leadership skills, working with young people on their Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, and showing that you too can enjoy the adventures that await.

Ed Snatt (Lychee - Trainee Instructor)

Ed, the youngest recruit to the Dynamic team,  made the decision to join the Instructor Trainee Course after realising that he was happiest on bikes, in rivers and, most of all, up mountains climbing. He opted for the one-year training course instead of A-Levels in the hope that it will provide ideas for his next steps towards a career outdoors. He's just come back from his first expedition with the team, enjoying sunny spain and improving his climbing in the meantime!

Chris Evans (Freelancer)

Chris Evans (not that one...) has been part of the Dynamic team since it's early days - he's been a freelancing instructor for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to his groups as well as a wicked sense of fun. A Level 3 Coach, he's a super keen kayaker who is never happier than when he's on the water, paddle in hand.



Rachel Scott (Freelancer)

Rachel has worked as an Instructor in the Outdoor Industry for over twenty years. In 1998 Rachel moved to Devon and began freelancing for numerous centres in the county, as well as continuing to work around the UK teaching the range of activities in the mountains, moorlands, rivers and on the coast. In the last few years she joined the freelance team at Dynamic Adventures and particularly loves instructing on the Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.  Rachel now has two young boys to share her passions with and her weekends are often spent on the local beaches surfing and wild swimming or taking family trips out in the canoe.

CJ (Freelancer)

CJ has been with us for 5 years and works as a regular freelancer. He started as a Trainee Instructor, and went on to become an Apprentice. He has progressed dramatically and is now a qualified Mountain Leader, a keen member of the Dartmoor Rescue Team and a Gadget Geek in his spare time - always a handy person to have around. He spends his winters in Spain and works with us for the summer season.

George Wills (Freelancer)

George started with us as a member of our Dynamic after-school club The Adventurers. Now, several years and an apprenticeship later, he is well on his way to becoming a qualified outdoor instructor. He is a passionate climber, a member of Dartmoor Mountain Rescue and is usually to found hanging off things... With a talent for making and fixing things, he had a key role in building and designing our High Ropes course.


All staff are fully First Aid trained, DBS registered, up to date with safeguarding (child protection) policies and procedures and trained to a high professional standard.
